What are some legitimate home based businesses

Is there any way that you can be 100 % certain of giving a correct answer today to the question: “What are some Legitimate home based businesses”. At one time there was no problem answering that question. Legitimate home based businesses were those operated by reputable people, people with integrity that had proven themselves to be honest, people that you knew, people that your father, your mother, your uncles and in fact your whole family knew.

The world was a small place then. People lived, got educated, worked and slept in their small village or neighborhood. Nobody asked the question what are some legitimate home based businesses. Not because every business at that time was legitimate but those that were not legitimate were easy to spot. They operated outside the law and most often in the worst part of town. Everyone knew who they were and what they were doing.

Unlike now, everyone knew everyone so if you wanted to know what are some Legitimate home based businesses, you only had to ask. If that did not produce an answer that you were comfortable with you could walk to that business, look at their products or services and ask questions directly to the owner.

Today it is quite different. The word population is exploding; Cities are turning into mega cities which in some cases are becoming bigger than some countries. People no longer live in neighborhoods that are familiar to them. They no longer know their neighbors. They no longer know what businesses are being conducted around them. As the world population exploded the number and types of business have exploded making it difficult to answer the question what are some legitimate home based businesses.

The world is shrinking, advanced telecommunications, transportation and the internet means that in business borders are disappearing. People, information and ideas flow around the world at amazing speed. What is legitimate in one country may not be in another. So asking the question what are some Legitimate home based businesses may prompt some very different and conflicting answers.

Legitimate Home based business

The US Department of Labour has projected that by the year 2025 almost two thirds of the American Population could be working from home. Some in a Legitimate home based business and others working for companies using wok from home workers. It is estimated that this sector of the economy comprises of more than 52 million workers.

Most of the legitimate home based business startups in the last few years have been internet based. Online retail sales have been growing steadily since the Dot.com burst of a few years ago. Internet sales growth has been running at an average of 13 % per year.

US online sales are forecast to grow by over 50% to $300 billion in the next 5 years. Even if only a small percentage of that is for the legitimate home based business sector, that percentage is a lot of dollars. So it is no wonder that many of the people looking for a legitimate home based business are turning to the internet to provide it.

Along with access to a huge market, the internet provides legitimate home based business owners with the ability to communicate more targeted offers to consumers and it provides shoppers with the choice and information they need to make informed decisions. These were decisions that formerly could only be gotten by visiting a retail outlet or being a customer of a catalog business.

But one must be careful in selecting a legitimate home based business from the hundreds of thousands available. Stay away from any “get rich quick” schemes. Always know who you are dealing with. If you cannot find the contact information for the company and its executive officers drop it from your list.

Pick a well established company one with a good track record that has support systems and proven marketing tools necessary to build a solid and profitable business. Check with the better business Bureau to see if there have been any complaints. Do an online search for information and if they are a public traded company look up their last year end report that they filed with the SEC. You may find more information here

What are some Legitimate Home based Businesses

A question I am always asked when I meet a newbie online is: What are some Legitimate Home Based businesses? I said newbie but a whole lot of us oldies are also asking what some Legitimate Home based Businesses are also. If we knew the answer to that we would be a happy bunch of marketers.

Many of us have been scammed at one time or another no matter how hard we try and avoid it. We have all answered an add promising what looks like a good deal then as soon as they get our money they disappear never to be heard of again. You see the scammers are very organized. They gather millions and millions of email addresses, they put up a fancy professional looking web page, they key on things that people are looking for and make some very wild but believable statements. Most will not not have a permanent address; they do a quick campaign, gather people’s money and disappear.

Be very leery about any get rich quick scheme. There is no easy money and anyone offering to make you rich by working 10 hours a week is generally not telling the truth, they are only after one thing, your money. Making money on line or off line takes a lot of work and people in legitimate Home based businesses will all tell you that they work 70-80 hours a week.

Also be careful about companies that want up front money to cover the cost of training you. Most of them will take your money and offer you little training.

Now do not get me wrong there are plenty of legitimate home based business out there which will in fact require some basic training to properly do the job. No company can afford to train thousands of people to perform given tasks if those involved in the training are not sincere and/or committed to really doing the work. If you think you are seriously interested in a position but have your doubts about the integrity of the entity, the Better Business Bureau is always a good place to check out both good references and complaints about a given unit advertising work from home programs.
